Silk Hoop Earrings / Clip-On Earrings – Rikka Tsumami Zaiku Japanese Flower Jewelry
Rikka (六花) was created in response to repeated customer requests for a "tsumami earring that moves." The flower is built with hishi-tsumami, the sharper, more angular variant of the technique, then mounted to a brass hoop so it swings gently with the wearer. The result is a piece that reads sharp and modern from a distance and reveals its handwork only up close — easy to wear with office attire, easy to wear with a kimono.
Made from habutae silk (a thin, soft Japanese silk also used in traditional kanzashi) over a wood bead core, the earring is almost weightless on the lobe. Available in pierced and clip-on versions, in four colorways: antique rose, cement, ceramic, and white.
Made by Tsumami Kanzashi Ayano, the Matsudo workshop led by Ayano Fujii, a designated maker of Chiba Prefecture's traditional craft of Edo tsumami kanzashi.
