A small spouted pitcher for soy sauce, glazed in rokushō seiji (緑青磁) — a soft bluegreen celadon that recalls the patina of aged copper. Made by Miyama, the porcelain workshop in Mizunami, Gifu, working within the 1,300-year Mino-yaki tradition. The form is compact (70 mm tall) and quietly playful; the glaze settles deeper at the lip and around the spout.
Mino porcelain accounts for nearly half of all Japanese tableware, and Mizunami is one of its long-standing kiln towns. Miyama's contribution to that lineage is restraint — modern, functional forms paired with traditional glazes. The Haas series sits at that intersection: nothing on it is decorative, and yet everything is.
