Documented
We visited ISOBE in Okazaki, where one family has shaped warosoku by hand for about 300 years.
A taller flame for slower, quieter evenings.
This set of four 5-monme warosoku is made for longer rituals. At approximately 145 mm tall, each candle burns for around 90 minutes—enough for dinner, reading, meditation, or an unhurried bath.
Isobe Candle shapes each piece by hand in Okazaki using 100% plant-based haze wax and a traditional washi-and-rush wick. The result is a bright, resilient flame, minimal soot with proper trimming, and the warm movement unique to Japanese candles.
Key points:
- Four long-burning 5-monme candles in a presentation box
