A small spouted pitcher for soy sauce in hakuji (白磁) — pure white porcelain, the long-standing benchmark of Mino-yaki. Made by Miyama, the porcelain workshop in Mizunami, Gifu. The pitcher is compact (70 mm tall) with a clean, generous spout; under the glaze, the porcelain stays opaque and warm-white rather than stark.
Mino porcelain accounts for nearly half of all Japanese tableware, and Mizunami is one of its long-standing kiln towns. Miyama's signature is modern restraint — paring forms back to what's needed, then trusting the material. The Haas series is the studio working in that register on a small, everyday scale.
